'Optimus List Disclosure' Rep. Yang Sang-beom Reported for Defamation
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Citizens' Action for Judicial Justice Restoration filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 21st against Yusangbeom, a member of the People Power Party, who disclosed the list of investors in the Optimus Asset Management fund, on charges of defamation by spreading false information.
The group stated, "The list disclosed by Representative Yu at the National Assembly audit, claiming it included 'Optimus investors involving government and ruling party officials,' actually contained namesakes unrelated to the ruling party," and added, "Without any verification process, false information was spread at the highly publicized audit, damaging the reputations of the mentioned ruling party figures."

The group also alleged, "It is suspected that Representative Yu, as the 3rd Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in 2014, led the fabrication of the 'Opposition Lawmaker Legislative Lobbying Case,' a Blue House-directed investigation," and included charges of abuse of power and instigation of false testimony in the complaint.
