Korea Customs Service Holds Online Briefing on 'Overseas Customs Clearance System'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Customs Service will hold an online briefing session on overseas customs clearance systems.
The Korea Customs Service announced on the 21st that it will hold an online briefing session on overseas customs clearance systems for export companies and logistics industry officials on the 11th of next month.
The briefing session is organized as an opportunity for customs officers dispatched to major export hubs to introduce essential information that domestic export-import companies need to know during the overseas customs clearance process.
In particular, 12 customs officers from eight countries, including Indonesia, the United States, Belgium, China, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand?key countries in the New Southern Policy?will attend to explain the customs clearance systems and trends in customs policy changes by country, enhancing the understanding of the briefing attendees.
Additionally, one-on-one online consultations will be conducted simultaneously to resolve difficulties faced by export companies on-site.
The briefing session will be held online considering the COVID-19 situation.
Participation applications can be made through the notices and announcements posted on the Korea Customs Service website and the popup at the bottom of the page. On the day of the briefing, the online access address will be provided individually to each applicant.
If applicants submit the topics they wish to consult on in advance, detailed free online consultations with customs officers can be conducted.

No Seok-hwan, Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service, said, “These days, with the strengthening of protectionism and COVID-19 worsening export-import conditions, difficulties in overseas customs clearance in emerging trading countries continue to occur. The Korea Customs Service plans to support domestic export companies and related parties by holding online briefing sessions so that each company can resolve customs clearance difficulties.”
