On the 21st, POSCO Energy announced that it will jointly promote a social contribution activity of 'Education + Childcare' with LG Uplus to solve the growing educational and childcare gaps among children at local community centers deepened by COVID-19.
LG Uplus will provide its educational content service 'U+ Elementary Country' and smart pads free of charge to 48 children at seven local community centers in Seo-gu, Incheon, to reduce the learning gap caused by remote classes. POSCO Energy also supported smart pads for 48 university student volunteers it operates, enabling one-on-one tutoring with the children.
In U+ Elementary Country, the 'EBS Smart Perfect Score King' service, which allows students to solve problems immediately while watching lectures, is exclusively provided using 'EBS Perfect Score King,' which was used as teaching material for online elementary school classes nationwide.
In addition, six popular elementary educational contents are provided in a single app with one login, including ▲ Reading Gate, which offers access to over 2,000 famous overseas English books ▲ Kids Times, an elementary English newspaper ▲ Moon Jeong-ah Chinese ▲ Science Play Classroom ▲ and 'U+ Kids Vivid Library,' which reads English fairy tales from world-famous publishers in AR.
POSCO Energy matches 48 university student volunteers as mentors one-on-one with children at local community centers and supports learning remotely using smart pads installed with U+ Elementary Country content, while also conducting childcare mentoring based on emotional communication such as counseling.
So far, POSCO Energy has actively practiced its corporate citizenship management philosophy by operating university student volunteer groups and supporting 'visiting tutoring' and 'special activities in music and art' for children at local community centers in Seo-gu, Incheon. However, as face-to-face activities became difficult due to COVID-19, they had to find new ways to communicate with the children, and through this collaboration with LG Uplus, they decided to operate a non-face-to-face online volunteer group.
