Goheung-gun Signs Friendship Exchange Agreement with Ansan-si for Urban-Rural Win-Win Development
Promoting Joint Development Through Diverse Exchanges Between Administrative and Private Sectors
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 20th, Jeonnam Goheung-gun announced that on the 19th, it held a friendship exchange agreement ceremony for exchange cooperation and mutual development with Ansan City at the Palyongsan Hall of the county office.
The signing of this agreement took place with the attendance of the county governor, the chairman of the county council, and the mayor of Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.
This was due to the mutual consensus formed between local governments following the business exchange of agricultural cooperatives in both regions in June last year, and plans to promote various private exchanges in the future starting with cooperation in the administrative field.
At the agreement ceremony, County Governor Song Gwigeun said, “Let us seek directions for mutual development through cooperation in various fields such as administration, economy, culture, tourism, sports, and youth, and strive to ensure practical exchanges as partners in local autonomy.”
Mayor Yoon Hwa-seop of Ansan also responded, “The friendship exchange agreement with Goheung-gun is very meaningful to me as I am originally from Goheung, and I look forward to the two cities closely cooperating and becoming a good relationship that helps each other.”
A county official stated, “The two local governments will complement each other's shortcomings and continue exchanges to become a good example of urban-rural coexistence.”

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun has sister city relationships with seven cities including Changwon City in Gyeongnam and Nowon-gu in Seoul, and friendship exchange agreements with three cities including Gangdong-gu in Seoul. If the exchange with Ansan City becomes active, it plans to develop it into a sister city relationship.
