'Gukmin Oegyo Town' Launches... Public Lectures and Communication Events
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Korea National Diplomatic Academy announced on the 19th that it held a lecture by the Director of the Academy and a dialogue with diplomats at the National Diplomacy Academy Hall on the 5th floor of the Diplomatic Town to commemorate the launch of the National Diplomacy Town.
In his lecture, Director Kim Jun-hyung explained the current status of the Korean government's public diplomacy efforts, the background of the launch of the National Diplomacy Town, and its future vision. During the subsequent Q&A session, he listened to opinions on ways to activate public participation and strengthen communication, and freely communicated about public diplomacy policies in general, including the National Diplomacy Town.
Following the lecture, the 'Dialogue with Diplomats' invited five active diplomats who joined through various channels as panelists. Attendees freely asked questions about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomats, and shared vivid experiences from the diplomatic field, including diplomatic activities at overseas missions, protection of overseas nationals, and protocol.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "This event is the first public lecture and communication event held since the official launch of the National Diplomacy Town, marking the first step in the long journey to realize the vision of public diplomacy that brings the National Diplomacy Town closer to the people." He added, "Since 2021, the Korea National Diplomatic Academy plans to actively strive to implement 'people-centered diplomacy' through the National Diplomacy Academy program, which is scheduled to be operated for the general public."
