On the morning of the 20th, at the National Assembly's National Audit Countermeasure Meeting, Floor Leader Kim said, "There is one week left until the PCC chief recommendation deadline," and added, "If the opposition party ultimately refuses, the Democratic Party will review the amendment bill."
He emphasized, "The Democratic Party has made maximum concessions to the opposition and waited as long as possible. By the 26th, it will have been over 100 days since the legal launch deadline of the PCC on July 15," and continued, "The public's demand for democratic checks and balances to function is higher than ever. We can no longer delay."
Regarding measures against overwork deaths of delivery workers, Floor Leader Kim said, "The Democratic Party's efforts to improve the delivery industry and labor environment have not kept pace with reality, and we apologize," adding, "We will accelerate improvements in working conditions and fundamental institutional reforms."
He continued, "We will amend the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act to strictly protect delivery workers from industrial accidents," and urged, "We hope the government will conduct a full survey of delivery workers' working conditions and strictly address any illegal matters."
For fostering venture companies, Floor Leader Kim also said, "We will promote multiple voting rights for unlisted companies and venture capital, which have been discussed since the 20th National Assembly." He explained, "In countries like the United States and the United Kingdom, where startup investment is active, multiple voting rights are utilized. The limited allowance of CVCs (Corporate Venture Capital) by general holding companies will expand venture investment," and added, "We are well aware of concerns about unfair advantages and disguised succession related to allowing CVCs for large corporations. We will carefully address these during the legislative process."
