View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Doosan Yeongang Foundation recently held the 11th Doosan Yeongang Arts Awards ceremony at the Yeongang Hall of Doosan Art Center located in Jongno 5-ga, Seoul, the foundation announced on the 20th. This year's recipients were director Yoon Hye-sook (performance category) and visual artist Kim Kyung-tae (art category).
The awardees receive benefits totaling approximately 200 million KRW. Each receives a prize of 30 million KRW, with the performance category winner supported with an additional 80 million KRW for new production costs, and the art category winner provided with 60 million KRW separately for exhibition expenses at Doosan Gallery Seoul.
Performance category winner Yoon Hye-sook said, "This award is meaningful as it is a recognition of encouragement for future expectations. Being alongside the past recipients whom I have admired makes it even more significant, and I will work even harder." Art category winner Kim Kyung-tae stated, "I will draw strength from the support and expectations to strive for better works."
Park Yong-hyun, chairman of Doosan Yeongang Foundation, said, "I hope this award serves as encouragement for those who will lead our culture and arts."

The Doosan Yeongang Arts Award was established in 2010 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yeongang (蓮崗) Park Doo-byung, the founding chairman of Doosan, emphasizing the importance of talent. It supports young artists under the age of 40 with high growth potential in the fields of performance and visual arts.
