Expansion of Eligibility for Industrial Complex-Type Happy Housing Residents... "Promoting Regional Economic Vitality"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is expanding the eligibility for happiness housing for industrial complex workers to revitalize industrial complexes and relaxing the criteria for re-entry into other happiness housing.
The Ministry announced on the 20th that it will publicly notify the amendment to the "Enforcement Rules of the Public Housing Special Act," which includes these details, from the 21st until the 30th of next month. The amendment is expected to be implemented as early as the end of December.
Looking into the amendment, first, the eligibility for unleased industrial complex-type happiness housing will be expanded.
When there are few applicants for industrial complex-type happiness housing causing unleased units, the income criteria will be relaxed from 100% to up to 150% to select additional tenants, and the remaining unleased units will be provided to workers who own housing but do not own a house in the relevant or adjacent area, allowing them to live for up to six years.
Additionally, unleased units of job-linked support housing such as startup support housing, regional strategic industry support housing, and small and medium enterprise worker exclusive housing, which have similar working conditions to industrial complex-type happiness housing, will also follow the selection criteria of industrial complex-type happiness housing to help attract excellent talent.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will also revise the income criteria among youth class happiness housing eligibility to apply uniformly (100%) instead of the previously complex criteria that varied depending on ▲youth household heads with household members, ▲single household heads, and ▲youth household members.
Furthermore, until now, happiness housing tenants such as youth and newlyweds could not re-enter other happiness housing in adjacent areas even if their living base changed due to job changes, but going forward, this will be allowed to enable proximity between work and residence.
The eligibility for university student class within two years of graduation or dropout from university or high school will be expanded to include those who have passed the qualification exam, and the dual-income income criteria for industrial complex-type happiness housing will be relaxed from 100% to 120%.
