'Pyeonghwanuri Adventure Facility' to Open at Imjingak on the 21st
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 'Pyeonghwanuri Adventure Playground' will open at the Imjingak tourist site in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 20th that the 'Pyeonghwanuri Adventure Playground,' a children's play facility within the Imjingak tourist site, will open on the 21st.
The Pyeonghwanuri Adventure Playground covers an area of 3,000㎡, with a total budget of 400 million KRW, including 200 million KRW in national funds invested last year.
Unlike existing playgrounds created with uniform facility installations, this playground tells the story of children becoming explorers with their parents and embarking on an adventure to 'Pyeonghwanuri Castle,' learning the process of challenge and achievement, and growing as members of the Pyeonghwanuri exploration team.
The playground will be operated on consignment by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, which oversees the overall management of Imjingak Pyeonghwanuri. Along with the nighttime tourism content project being developed in the nearby Supulnuri area, it is expected to become a new tourist attraction in northern Gyeonggi.

Choi Yong-hoon, Director of the Provincial Tourism Division, said, "It has been true that the Imjingak tourist site lacked children's facilities compared to the number of family visitors. We expect that the newly established Pyeonghwanuri Adventure Playground will be a space where parents and children visiting Imjingak can freely play and create special memories."
