Fire Chief Kim Juri of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Responds Calmly for Smooth Delivery
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] A pregnant woman whose water suddenly broke was able to give birth safely thanks to the calm guidance of a 119 Comprehensive Situation Room emergency situation management officer.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) on the 19th, an emergency call reporting labor pains was received at around 10 a.m. at the Jeonnam Fire Comprehensive Situation Room.
Through the receiver held by Fire Officer Kim Juri, the husband's urgent voice was heard saying, "My full-term wife’s water broke, and the baby is about to come out now."
In Officer Kim’s mind, the thought crossed that the baby might be born before the ambulance arrived at the scene.
Immediately, Officer Kim reassured, "You can do it. Stay calm," and guided emergency treatment. Following Officer Kim’s calm on-site delivery guidance, the pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy 3.2 kg baby girl in just three minutes.
Shortly after, the ambulance arrived, and both the mother and baby were safely transported to the hospital.
It was reported that both the mother and baby are currently in good health and recovering at the hospital.
