Jangseong-gun Designates 'Odd-Even Parking Street' at Hwangryong Market
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 19th that starting January next year, a part of Baetnadri-ro near Hwangryong Market, a habitual traffic congestion area, will be designated as a ‘Parking Odd-Even System Street.’
The ‘Parking Odd-Even System Street’ is a system that allows parking on the left side on odd-numbered days and on the right side on even-numbered days, based on the center of the road. This prevents vehicles from parking on both sides of the road and promotes smooth traffic flow.
The implementation target area is a 400m section from Hwangryong-myeon Hyundai Tteokbangatgan to Hwangryong Mart. This area experiences heavy traffic congestion and has a high risk of pedestrian accidents.
With the ‘Parking Odd-Even System Street’ in place, parking will be allowed on the left side toward Hwangryong Post Office on odd days, and on the right side toward Hwangryong Hanaro Mart on even days.
Jangseong-gun plans to complete the installation of LED parking guidance lights and unmanned enforcement cameras by the end of this year and to fully implement the system starting next year.
