This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and co-organized by KOTRA and Informa Markets Korea.
The BioHealth Exhibition provides an overview of the entire biohealth industry as well as overseas promotion and marketing of K-quarantine. It is the world's first online exhibition covering the biohealth fields including bio/pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and quarantine. The BioHealth Exhibition is planned to be held annually online only.
In particular, to ensure a high-quality exhibition operation, it partnered with a global exhibition company. Co-organizer Informa is headquartered in the UK and is the world's largest exhibition company hosting 550 international exhibitions annually. KOTRA plans to lead the international online exhibition in collaboration with Informa.
This exhibition featured 500 Korean biohealth companies participating from home and abroad. These companies will conduct video consultations with 650 overseas buyers until the closing day on the 30th. Side events such as conferences, investment attraction promotions, and web seminars will also be held. Especially, through the K-quarantine pavilion, Korea's COVID-19 response system and related products will be intensively promoted.
The conference held as a side event will examine global market trends in the biohealth sector for COVID-19 response and the industry's response directions. The conference, continuing for three days from the 19th, features 22 major domestic and international speakers giving lectures on COVID-19 quarantine, medical devices, pharmaceutical bio, and digital healthcare.
A promotion and web seminar hall for companies seeking overseas investment attraction was also prepared. The online Demo Day, which started on the 19th, included 15 small and medium-sized enterprises and startups in the biohealth sector looking for overseas investors. These companies perform online pitching targeting overseas investors and then actively pursue investment attraction through video consultations.
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony on the 19th was also held online. Following the opening declaration by KOTRA President Pyung-oh Kwon, Sylvie Briand, Director of the WHO Department of Infectious Hazard Management, delivered a keynote speech presenting trends and future prospects of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
