New Route Launched by ZIP Air: Incheon to Tokyo
Implementation of Special Entry Procedures for Korean-Japanese Businesspeople... First Entry of Japanese LCC Passenger Flights
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 19th that Japan's low-cost carrier (LCC) ZIPAIR Tokyo commenced a new regular route between Incheon and Tokyo (Narita) on the 16th.
Established in 2018, ZIPAIR is an LCC targeting medium- to long-haul routes, and the Incheon-Tokyo route is the airline's first passenger route. ZIPAIR operates the route twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) using a B787-800. From the winter season, it plans to increase to three times a week by adding Sundays.
Besides ZIPAIR, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Jin Air currently operate regular flights on the Incheon-Narita route.

Jo Woo-ho, Head of Hub Strategy at Incheon Airport Corporation, stated, "With the special entry procedures for Korean and Japanese businesspeople implemented since the 8th, we expect that this new service will expand passengers' options for airlines and flight schedules."
