Honam University 'AI Industry Application Workshop' Successfully Concluded
Overview of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Big Data Analysis Techniques in Industrial Sites
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University, an ‘AI Specialized University,’ held an ‘AI Industry Application Workshop’ with participation from leading AI scholars in Korea, reviewing artificial intelligence technologies and big data analysis techniques applied in industrial fields such as automobiles and traffic information.
The AI Big Data Research Institute at Honam University (Director Professor Baek Ran) announced on the 18th that, together with the 4th Industrial Revolution Leading Innovation University Project Group, it held an online workshop titled ‘Visiting the Industrial Sites of AI Technology’ on the 16th. The workshop was broadcast live via YouTube ‘Honam University TV.’
In the first presentation, Dr. Ko Byung-yeol (Director of the Future Technology Analysis Center at KISTI) introduced in detail how, by using Science Map to find the topics with the most research in technology fields, and screening AI technology data from big data of overall research paper literature through supercomputers, accurate interpretation for future prediction is possible, under the title ‘Finding Future Promising Leading Technologies through Data Analysis.’
The second speaker, Dr. Kim Seung-man (LG Electronics CTO, Cabin HMI TP Team Leader at A&B Center Smart Mobility Research Institute), explained the core competitive background of the cutting-edge automobile market through his presentation ‘AI Application Cases: Automotive Infotainment.’ He covered the definition of automotive infotainment, system development, examples of infotainment applied in automobiles, the characteristics and application processes of AI application technologies applied by area in infotainment functions, and the resulting synergy effects.
The final speaker, Dr. Jeon Tae-gyun (CEO of SI-Analytics), gave a presentation titled ‘Traffic Information Application Cases through Satellite Big Data Analysis,’ delivering a vivid lecture on the current status of satellites, the level of technology implementation from past to present, various analysis cases using AI based on satellites, and field-specific cases in defense and safety, economy and industry, disaster prevention, and climate forecasting. He concluded by introducing the supply field of AI experts with ‘WE ARE HIRING.’
The Honam University AI Big Data Research Institute held an ‘Artificial Intelligence Workshop’ on August 27, presenting the future vision of university education in the AI era and directions to be pursued in educational fields. Last month on the 18th, it also organized a ‘Big Data Workshop’ showcasing various field application cases of big data.
Professor Baek Ran, director of the Honam University AI Big Data Research Institute, said, “While the first and second workshops assessed the level of research on artificial intelligence and big data, the third workshop was a field experience study examining AI technologies that can be implemented on site, which was very beneficial for researchers and students.”
