[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) plans to hold the '2021 Online College Entrance Briefing Session' to support high school seniors in the district who are anxious due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Hosted by the 'Seocho-gu Bangbae Education Support Center,' this 'Online College Entrance Briefing Session' will be broadcast live on November 3rd from 5 PM at the Seocho-gu Yangjae Library through the 'Seocho Hon-gong Project' YouTube channel, with interactive Q&A between the instructors and participants during the broadcast.
Additionally, under strict quarantine guidelines including non-face-to-face temperature checks using AI robots, on-site participation will be limited to the first 30 people.
This briefing session aims to provide a '4-type entrance exam preventive vaccine' for students and parents who are confused and anxious ahead of the college entrance exam during the prolonged COVID-19 situation, supporting four types of exam preparation: ▲the first vaccine is the online briefing session ▲the second vaccine is customized one-on-one consulting ▲the third vaccine is the acceptance prediction service ▲the fourth vaccine is the college entrance exam success kit.
The first preventive vaccine, the 'Online College Entrance Briefing Session,' will thoroughly cover strategies for high school seniors 30 days before the exam (D-30) due to the postponement caused by COVID-19, as well as topics such as essay writing and interviews immediately after the exam, and urgent matters that need to be checked and decided right after the exam.
In particular, this briefing session will provide tailored preparation strategies as major universities such as Yonsei University and Korea University have introduced non-face-to-face video interviews.
Furthermore, guidance on school internal grades, extracurricular subjects by grade, and student record management strategies will also be provided for first and second-year high school students.
Moreover, essential entrance exam analysis materials will be produced and uploaded on the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website, and after the briefing session, the video will be edited and posted on YouTube.
The second preventive vaccine, 'Customized One-on-One Consulting,' will be held from October 20 to November 14 at four education support centers by region (Bangbae, Seocho, Banpo·Jamwon, Yangjae·Naegok), with one hour per person at each center.
The one-on-one consulting will be conducted by advance reservation on a first-come, first-served basis by time slot. Students wishing to participate can apply and register on the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website.
The third preventive vaccine, the 'Acceptance Prediction Service,' will be provided from October 27 to November 14 for local high school seniors to check their university acceptance status and the cutoff scores of successful applicants over the past three years, with partial support for usage fees.
The final fourth preventive vaccine will provide a 'College Entrance Exam Success Kit' to participants attending the briefing session on-site and those applying for one-on-one consulting. The kit includes a mechanical pencil exclusively for the exam and a mask kit, supporting students' success amid COVID-19.
In April, Seocho-gu held an 'Online College Admission Early Decision Briefing Session' as part of the Seocho customized 'Hon-gong (studying alone)' project for high school seniors and parents, summarizing key issues for the 2021 college entrance, providing study strategies for seniors due to school reopening delays, student record management, and customized early decision support strategies for Seocho students, receiving great responses.
After the college entrance exam on December 3, Seocho-gu plans to hold the '2021 College Admission Regular Decision Support Strategy Briefing Session' on December 5 to provide differentiated college admission support strategies, helping students with university admission and career choices.
