Wando Coast Guard Conducts Visiting Civil Service for Island Areas
[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando Maritime Police Agency announced on the 15th that it conducted a 'Visiting Island Mobile Comprehensive Civil Service' on the 14th at Chungdo, Geumil-eup, Wando-gun.
The mobile civil service, carried out in collaboration with Wando-gun, involved a volunteer group of about 40 people including Wando Maritime Police, Wando-gun officials, hairdressers, and medical personnel who visited island areas directly to provide customized services.
For the residents of Chungdo, Wando Maritime Police supported △ COVID-19 prevention and mask distribution in cooperation with public and private sectors △ underwater cleanup activities △ lectures and inspections on the use of V-PASS equipment △ inspection and repair of ship communication equipment △ visiting legal consultation services △ hairdressing services △ magnifier repairs △ medical services.

A Wando Maritime Police official stated, “By moving away from a passive civil service approach to providing visiting comprehensive civil administrative services, we believe we were able to alleviate some of the difficulties faced by local residents,” and added, “We will strive even harder to become a trusted and better maritime police force.”
