Gwangyang City 'Cadastral Digital Data Inquiry Service' Increases by 11% Compared to Last Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that the land information provided to 282 people through the ‘Cadastral Digital Data Inquiry Service’ until the end of last month amounted to a total of 1,277 parcels (1,281,000㎡), an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
The ‘Cadastral Digital Data Inquiry Service’ is a service that allows users to find land information registered under their ancestors’ or their own names for free through the National Land Information System.
Initially, it was limited to the ‘Ancestor Land Search’ service, which allowed descendants to check their ancestors’ land or to identify where land under their own name was located by querying the cadastral digital network when they could not confirm such information.
Currently, the service has expanded in various ways, including the ‘Safe Inheritance One-Stop Service’ that provides heirs with the deceased’s land ownership status upon death registration, and submission of land information under one’s name when applying for bankruptcy or personal rehabilitation in court, greatly aiding individuals in managing their assets.
Additionally, in accordance with the enforcement of the 「Special Measures Act on Real Estate Ownership Transfer Registration」, which was enacted to facilitate simple registration procedures, the land inquiry service is also provided when it is necessary to ascertain land ownership status.
Using the ‘Cadastral Digital Data Inquiry Service’ is very simple: when visiting the city hall in person, bring your ID card; when searching for ancestors’ land, bring your ID card along with documents proving heirship (such as family relation certificate, basic certificate, etc.) to apply.
