Prosecutors Conduct Search and Seizure of Former FSC Official Over 'Optimus Lobby' Allegations
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The prosecution investigating the lobbying allegations related to Optimus Asset Management conducted a search and seizure at the residence of former Financial Supervisory Service Director Yoon.
According to the legal community on the 14th, the Economic Crime Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jumincheol) conducted a search and seizure at Mr. Yoon's residence the previous day and summoned him for questioning as a suspect.
It is known that during a previous prosecution investigation, Optimus CEO Kim Jaehyun testified that he gave several tens of millions of won in money and goods to former Director Yoon.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yoon was arrested and indicted last year on charges of receiving 20 million won from a regional agricultural cooperative executive in 2014, who requested to reduce the disciplinary level following a Financial Supervisory Service inspection, and 10 million won in 2018 from a company representative as a bribe for facilitating financial institution loans. Mr. Yoon was sentenced to a suspended prison term in the first trial on July 1 and is currently undergoing an appeal trial. It is reported that Mr. Yoon denies the allegations.
