Suncheon City Recruiting Students for Citizen University Course 'Learning Yeosun 1019 with Five Senses'
Recruitment of Students for Suncheon Citizen University Regional Specialization Course Special Lecture on a First-Come, First-Served Basis Until the 16th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) is recruiting 30 trainees on a first-come, first-served basis until the 16th to participate in the Suncheon Citizen University regional specialization course titled "Learning Yeosun 1019 through the Five Senses."
This training is being promoted to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Yeosun Uprising on the 19th, with cooperation between Suncheon City and Suncheon National University Yeosun Research Institute, aiming to re-recognize the Yeosun 1019 incident at the community level and create an opportunity to elicit citizens' empathy.
Any citizen who wants to remember the history of the Yeosun Incident, learn about the history of that day, or understand the meaning of the number Yeosun 1019 can apply. Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Suncheon City Hall or Suncheon City Culture and Health Center websites and sending it via email or phone.
The training course, held six times every Monday from the 19th to the 23rd of next month, will include field trips and talk concerts that allow participants to understand Yeosun 1019 through various artworks such as literature, films, and paintings.
A Suncheon City official said, "We expect that this training, which helps understand the historical truth of our region, will spread correct understanding and empathy for the Yeosun Uprising."
