'Gangjin YB Team' Ranked 1st in 2020 K-6 Jeollanam-do Football League
Playoff Advancement for K-5 Soccer League Qualification
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] In the 2020 K-6 Jeollanam-do Football League, the Gangjin YB team took first place.
According to Gangjin-gun on the 12th, the tournament was held from August 9th with 250 players from 12 teams in Jeonnam participating, and matches were conducted at three stadiums: the Comprehensive Sports Complex, Cheongja Stadium, and Nampo Stadium, while adhering to quarantine guidelines.
The tournament was held with a limited number of participants: 50 players, 5 referees, 10 staff members, and fewer than 100 people per match.
The K-6 Football League consisted of preliminary leagues from the 1st to the 5th rounds, and the 6th round was conducted as playoffs.
The first place in the preliminary league was Gangjin YB, and the second place was Mokpo Gatdangdae team. Starting with a 5-1 victory over Goheung K6 team in the 1st round on August 9th, Gangjin YB won all five matches, including a 4-1 win against Yeonggwang Chilsan team and a 3-0 win against Yeosu Mariners team in the 2nd and 3rd rounds on the 10th, and a 2-1 win against Mokpo Gatdangdae team and a 3-0 win against Mokpo EVRO team in the 5th and 6th rounds on the 11th, securing first place with a perfect record.
The Gangjin YB team will participate in the playoffs next month along with the second-place team, Mokpo Gatdangdae, competing against the top six teams from Gwangju and Jeonnam. The champion team will advance to the K-5 League.
This K-6 League was conducted with strict pre-event measures to prevent COVID-19, including matches without spectators, temperature checks, mask-wearing, visitor log registration, and disinfection.
