Haman Nongyo is an event that reenacts the one-year farming process starting with rice planting in May, followed by rice fish catching in July, grass cutting in August, and rice harvesting and threshing, as well as barley sowing in October. It reproduces the farming process passed down in the region through our traditional melodies, based on the unique Menari melody Nongyo of the Haman area and the Nongak accompaniment by the Dure Nongak troupe.
Haman Nongyo, completed around 2000 through the continuous discovery of Haman area Nongyo by members of the Aragaya Pungmul Research Association, was designated as Gyeongnam Province Intangible Cultural Property No. 39 in September 2016. This presentation was held on the 10th at the Akyang Embankment riverside field, which retains its old natural scenery, and will be released after the 20th through the official website and YouTube.
