The crackdown was carried out with the goal of completely blocking illegal recordings that could be exploited for digital sex crimes. Inspection sites were selected considering crime occurrence locations and usage frequency. The process involved first scanning the inside of restrooms with radio wave detectors, followed by re-inspection using lens detectors.
Additionally, banners to prevent illegal filming were installed at restroom entrances, and monthly inspection sheets were attached to each stall to ensure thorough management without omissions. Through these various inspection methods, offenders were deterred from committing crimes, and potential anxiety factors for users were proactively eliminated.
As a result of these activities, no incidents occurred at the inspected locations since April, and notably, crimes involving camera-based filming decreased sharply by 66% compared to the previous year.
