Busan City and the Busan Metropolitan Mental Health Welfare Center are conducting an ‘online relay campaign’ with various content related to mental health management until November 27.
Every year on October 10, ‘World Mental Health Day’ is observed, established in 1992 by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH). In South Korea, it has been designated as a legal commemorative day since 2017 under the ‘Mental Health Welfare Act,’ with various events and promotions held.
This year, instead of large-scale ceremonies or face-to-face events due to COVID-19, online programs will be prepared to dispel prejudice against mental disorders and provide information on psychological quarantine.
▲ The ‘Green Ribbon Campaign,’ running until the 23rd, allows participants to download the green ribbon symbolizing World Mental Health Day from the Busan Metropolitan Mental Health Welfare Center website or the 2020 Ontact Busan Mental Health Festival website and post it on their social media (SNS) accounts. Fifty people will be selected by lottery to receive gifticons.
▲ The ‘Today My Mind Campaign,’ held from October 26 to November 13, offers an opportunity to express one’s feelings with emoticons and self-check emotions amid COVID blues.
By creating emoticons representing their emotions on the center’s website or the festival website and posting them on their social media (SNS) accounts, 300 people will be selected by lottery to receive a ‘Mind Quarantine KIT’ containing a colored drawing set, mask, emotion calendar set, hand sanitizer tissues, and more.
▲ The ‘Even If Lonely or Sad Campaign,’ running from November 16 to 27, is a campaign to introduce one’s own special coping methods to overcome the prolonged difficulties caused by COVID-19.
