Gangnam-gu Publishes Collection of Heartwarming Cases in Community Health Care Visits
60 Stories from Visiting Nurses... 500 Copies Produced, Distributed to Community Centers and Elderly Care Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) celebrated the 1st anniversary of the ‘Visiting Community Service Center (hereafter, Chatdong)’ Home Health Care Project by publishing a collection of heartwarming stories titled ‘Gangnam-gu Visiting Nursing, Blooming through Chatdong’ last month.
The Chatdong Home Health Care Project involves nurses assigned to each neighborhood directly visiting vulnerable households or facilities to identify issues such as blood pressure, diabetes, and mental health, and provide customized management services. This collection includes 60 stories from visiting nurses who have diligently cared for the elderly’s health on the ground over the past year.
Since launching the Chatdong Home Health Care Project in April last year, the district has uniquely hired all 34 visiting nurses as public health officials among the 25 autonomous districts in Seoul, assigning them to 22 community service centers to ensure rapid establishment.
In particular, the ‘Frailty Prevention Program’ conducted over 12 weeks targeting Gangnam-gu residents aged 65 and older by the visiting nurses has been recognized as an excellent model and expanded to other districts.

Yang Oh-seung, Director of the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center, stated, “This collection, containing vivid voices from residents and visiting nurses, was produced in 500 copies and will be distributed to community service centers and elderly care facilities in the region to widely promote a systematic health management system.” He added, “We will continue to strive to build a dense health safety net through ‘moving administration’ imbued with the ‘Mimiwi spirit’ of cooperation, consideration, and respect.”
