He added, "After that, they must find a way to implement that policy over the long term," and warned, "If this is impossible, we will fall into a situation similar to World War I."
Former Secretary Kissinger was the National Security Advisor under President Richard Nixon and was instrumental in establishing U.S.-China diplomatic relations. Now 97 years old, he has emphasized the need to ease U.S.-China tensions through visits to China and other countries.
