Seoul Reports 20 New Cases Yesterday... Additional Infections from Small-Scale Cluster Outbreaks
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 7th, 20 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Seoul in one day. The number of deaths related to COVID-19 also increased by one.
As of midnight on the 8th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 20 from the previous day, reaching a cumulative total of 5,463 cases.
Except for one case related to the newly classified cluster infection at 'Gwanak-gu Geunmideum Church' (cumulative 2 cases), most of the new confirmed cases were additional infections from previously identified small cluster outbreaks.
One new confirmed case each was reported at Dobong-gu Dana Hospital (cumulative 51 cases), Dongdaemun-gu Bible Study Group (cumulative 20 cases), Dobong-gu Yemaru Daycare Center (cumulative 31 cases), and Gwanak-gu Sarangnamu Daycare Center (cumulative 8 cases).
Additionally, there was one case related to overseas contact, four cases from contact with confirmed patients in other cities or provinces, three cases from other infection routes, and seven cases with infection routes under investigation.
So far in Seoul, 4,809 patients have been declared recovered and discharged, while 592 patients are currently undergoing isolation treatment. With one death reported the previous day, the total number of deaths in Seoul has risen to 62.
