Versatile SAV... 'New MINI Countryman' Launched in Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] MINI Korea announced on the 8th that it will officially launch the 4-door Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) ‘New MINI Countryman’ in the domestic market.
The MINI Countryman is a model that has contributed to the expansion of the premium compact car market, having sold over 540,000 units worldwide since its first unveiling in 2011. The New MINI Countryman, which was first revealed globally in Korea this past June, is a facelifted version of the second-generation Countryman launched in 2017, featuring a wider range of options and accessories, as well as the latest digital services. Additionally, it is equipped with a completely newly evolved design.
The New MINI Countryman exudes a strong presence through its redesigned front end. The radiator grille is crafted in MINI’s traditional hexagonal structure. Furthermore, new exterior colors such as Sage Green and White Silver have been added to broaden customer choices.
The New MINI Countryman features five full-size seats, and the trunk capacity expands from a basic 450 liters to a maximum of 1390 liters when folding down the rear seatbacks in a 40:20:40 split.
Convenience features have also been significantly enhanced. Notably, wireless Apple CarPlay is provided as standard on all models except the Cooper and Cooper D ALL4. Additionally, all models incorporate the advanced latest MINI Connected functions, allowing convenient use of digital services through the MINI app, such as MINI TeleService, Intelligent Emergency Call, and Remote Service.
The New MINI Countryman is equipped with the latest engine featuring MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, maximizing driving enjoyment. Depending on the model, maximum output ranges from 136 horsepower to 192 horsepower, and maximum torque ranges from 22.4 kg·m to 40.8 kg·m. Moreover, except for some gasoline models, all models come standard with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission that guarantees optimal efficiency and quick shifting, and MINI’s all-wheel-drive system ‘ALL4’ is installed to provide excellent driving stability and agility regardless of road conditions or weather.

The New MINI Countryman launched domestically offers a total of six diverse engine trims: three gasoline and three diesel options. Prices are 39.6 million KRW for the gasoline Cooper model, 44.7 million KRW for the Cooper High Trim, and 53 million KRW for the Cooper S. Diesel models are priced at 45.6 million KRW for the Cooper D, 49.5 million KRW for the Cooper D High Trim, and 55.9 million KRW for the Cooper SD.
