Installation of IoT Shared Parking Lot Kiosks in Guro-gu
Introduction of unmanned payment system for on-site use without mobile app download... Visitors unfamiliar with smartphone payment methods can also use IoT parking lots
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) has installed kiosks at the ‘IoT Shared Parking Lot’.
Guro-gu announced on the 8th that “to enhance the convenience for residents using the IoT shared parking lot, we recently introduced an unmanned payment system using kiosks.”
Last year, Guro-gu started the ‘IoT Parking Sharing Project,’ which allows real-time checking and use of vacant parking spaces through a mobile app by utilizing the Internet of Things. Currently, 22 locations with 333 shared parking spaces are being operated. From September last year to August this year, a total of 11,879 cumulative uses were recorded.
As the usage rate of the IoT shared parking lot continues to increase, Guro-gu installed touch screen kiosks to enhance user convenience.
The installation site is 24, Gurojungang-ro 28-gil, overseeing 10 shared parking spaces in the area. Users enter their vehicle number and parking time on the kiosk, pay the fee in advance, and then use the parking space. Full-scale operation will begin on the 19th of this month.
With the installation of this kiosk, users can now use the shared parking lot on-site without downloading a separate mobile app. It is expected to be especially helpful for users who are not familiar with payment methods using smartphones.
