At around 8:35 a.m. that day, a fire occurred at a pigsty in Eunha-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam, killing 1,079 sows and piglets. The fire burned down one livestock building and was extinguished after about two hours. The fire department estimated property damage at approximately 230 million won.

Later, at 1:38 p.m. the same day, a fire broke out at a poultry farm in Eunha-myeon, killing 9,000 broilers and burning down one livestock building. The estimated damage was about 290 million won (according to the fire department). Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fires.
