One Foreigner Escapes 'COVID Quarantine Facility' 5 Hours Before Discharge
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] A foreigner who had entered the country from overseas and was staying at a temporary quarantine facility for COVID-19 escaped just before the end of quarantine, prompting the police to launch a search.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) and the police on the 6th, a man identified as A from Indonesia fled on the evening of the 4th from a temporary quarantine facility in Jung-gu, Seoul, taking only his wallet and leaving other belongings behind.
A, who entered the country on the 21st of last month, is believed to have escaped about five hours before the quarantine period, which was set to end at midnight on the 5th.
