Changwon City Provides Emergency Livelihood Support to Households at Risk Due to 'COVID-19' Impact
Deposits of 400,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per month for 1 to 4-person households until the end of the year

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 6th that it will provide emergency living expenses to households experiencing financial difficulties due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This support is aimed at households in crisis facing financial difficulties who were excluded from existing welfare systems or COVID-19 emergency damage support projects, following the government's 4th supplementary budget allocation.
The eligibility criteria include households whose income has decreased by 25% or more due to COVID-19 related unemployment or business suspension, or those whose job-seeking allowance ended by the 30th, and who meet both the income standard of 75% or less of the median household income and the property standard of 350 million KRW or less.
Even if these criteria are met, households that have received support from existing welfare programs such as basic living allowance, emergency welfare living allowance, or other COVID-19 emergency support projects such as emergency employment stabilization subsidies, Small Business New Hope Fund, Closed Store Re-challenge Incentive Fund, Worker Employment Retention Subsidy, Youth Special Employment Support Program participants, or job-seeking allowance are excluded.
Eligible applicants can apply through the Bokjiro system from the 12th to the 30th. On-site applications will be accepted from the 19th to the 30th at the administrative welfare centers of the resident registration jurisdiction's eup, myeon, or dong.

After income and property investigations, payments will be made between November and December. The support amount is based on the household members registered in the resident registration electronic information as of the 9th of last month: 400,000 KRW for a single-person household, 600,000 KRW for a two-person household, 800,000 KRW for a three-person household, and 1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more members.
