[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in expressed his understanding of the feelings of the son who lost his father, a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official killed by North Korean gunfire, regarding the son's 'open letter.' President Moon decided to send a reply if the son's letter is delivered to the Blue House.
Kang Min-seok, the Blue House spokesperson, conveyed President Moon's remarks on the open letter from the son of a member of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries West Sea Fisheries Guidance Unit during a briefing at the Chuncheon Press Center on the afternoon of the 6th.
President Moon said, "I understand the feelings of a son who lost his father. My heart also aches," adding, "The Coast Guard is investigating various circumstances, so let's wait for the Coast Guard's investigation. I offer my condolences and hope that the mother and younger sibling endure this hardship."
Spokesperson Kang explained, "(President Moon) made these remarks at the Cabinet meeting," and added, "Besides the message, he plans to write a reply (to the son)."
