[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The Sejong Center Seoul Youth Orchestra will stage "Great Composers Series, Beethoven II" at the Sejong Center Grand Theater on the 24th.
The Seoul Youth Orchestra's "Great Composers Series" is an annual stage that selects a great composer in music history and presents a rich and diverse array of masterpieces. This year's composer is Beethoven, commemorating the 250th anniversary of his birth.
The Beethoven pieces to be performed in "Great Composers Series, Beethoven II" include Symphony No. 7, Violin Concerto, and Egmont Overture.
Professor Daejin Kim, president of the Korea National University of Arts College of Music and an active pianist and conductor, will conduct, with violinist Jiwon Song as the soloist. Jiwon Song is a young rising violinist who has won first prize at the Isang Yun International Music Competition and the Park Sung-yong Young Talent Special Award (2017), as well as first prize and Audience Award at the Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition (2016). Her synergy with the Seoul Youth Orchestra, composed of talented domestic performers in their 20s, is highly anticipated.
