Mercedes-Benz closes registration for 10,000 participants in 'Give and Race Virtual Busan'
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 5th that the registration for the first 10,000 participants for the non-face-to-face donation running event "6th Mercedes-Benz Give & Race Virtual Run Busan," held on October 17 and 18, has been closed.
Having successfully held the "Mercedes-Benz Give & Race Virtual Run" last July, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, together with Busan City and the social welfare corporation Children and Future Foundation, announced the hosting of the "Mercedes-Benz Give & Race Virtual Run Busan" and began recruiting 10,000 participants on the 7th of last month to encourage more local citizens to join.
All participation fees and additional donations will be used to support medical and educational expenses for vulnerable children and adolescents in the Busan area. This event saw participation from citizens across various regions, with the proportion of participants from Busan and Gyeongnam increasing about fourfold compared to the 5th event, and the proportion from non-metropolitan areas doubling.
The Mercedes-Benz Give & Race Virtual Run Busan will be conducted in a non-face-to-face manner, just like the previous 5 events, allowing safe participation while maintaining social distancing on desired courses using a GPS-based running mobile app.
In this event, the fastest time awards will be given to one male and one female participant for each course of 5km, 10km, and 21km. Additionally, various benefits will be provided to participants such as the youngest participant, oldest participant, best photogenic award, and the Instagram most likes award.
Furthermore, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee held pre-running events on the 19th and 26th of last month at Gwangalli Beach in Busan and Banpo Hangang Park in Seoul, and plans to hold an additional event in downtown Busan on the 10th.
