[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST, President Lee Yong-hoon) recorded a final competition rate of 9.37 to 1 with a total of 4,077 applicants for the 2021 academic year early admission application deadline.
By department, the science and engineering division had a competition rate of 9.22 to 1, and the business division had 11.84 to 1.
In this early admission application deadline on September 28, the total number of applicants was 4,077, an increase of 268 compared to last year, making it the highest number of applicants among the four major science and technology institutes nationwide.
Among them, 3,781 applicants applied for the science and engineering division, which is recruiting 410 students, and 296 applicants applied for the business division, which is recruiting 25 students.
In the regional talent selection for the science and engineering division, which selects 65 students from high schools located in Ulsan City, 193 applicants applied, showing a competition rate of 2.97 to 1.
Admissions Officer Kwon Tae-hyuk said, "The high schools of the applicants for the 2021 academic year early admission come from about 1,000 schools across 17 cities and provinces nationwide," adding, "This shows UNIST's nationwide recognition as a specialized university in science and technology."
