Jeju Attracts 250,000 Visitors for 'Chukangseu', Zero Confirmed Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Since September 26, just before the Chuseok holiday, more than 250,000 tourists have visited Jeju Island, but as of the 3rd, no confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported.
On the 3rd, Jeju Province announced that from September 26 to 4:30 PM on the same day, a total of 567 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted, with 536 testing negative. The remaining 31 are still awaiting test results. Since the 59th confirmed case on September 23, no new cases have been reported up to the 3rd.
During this period, 156 people with fever symptoms were identified at the domestic arrivals and departures area of Jeju International Airport, of whom 142 were simple fever cases and 14 tested negative for COVID-19. Simple fever cases refer to visitors whose second temperature check showed normal results. Since September 26, Jeju Province has mandated COVID-19 testing for anyone with a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher at Jeju Airport.
