Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Makes Consecutive Visits to Emergency Duty Sites During Chuseok Holiday

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, visited the provincial comprehensive situation room, 119 fire control room, and 112 police control room in sequence on the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 30th, to directly inspect safety and transportation measures for returning holidaymakers and measures to alleviate inconveniences for residents.
Visiting the provincial government comprehensive situation room, Governor Lee said, "During the holiday period, above all, protecting the health and safety of residents and returning holidaymakers from COVID-19 and various incidents and accidents must be prioritized," urging prompt situation management and on-site response.
The provincial comprehensive situation room operates with 10 teams in various fields during the holiday period (comprehensive situation team, COVID-19 response team, disaster management team, fire rescue and emergency medical team, livestock epidemic countermeasures team, emergency medical countermeasures team, traffic and transportation countermeasures team, road management team, environmental management team, and water supply management team). A total of 150 people work in shifts of 30 per day.
Next, Governor Lee visited the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters and, after receiving a report on the Chuseok holiday fire safety promotion measures from the head of the 119 comprehensive situation room in the operations meeting room, directly presided over a video conference with 19 frontline fire stations that had entered special alert duty.
At the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, Governor Lee had a video conversation with Captain Kim Ju-yeop of the Dokdo Guard Unit, saying, "October is Dokdo Month, and October 25th is Dokdo Day. I feel very reassured and proud of our personnel who guard our land, Dokdo, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without any gaps," encouraging them to "steadfastly protect Dokdo with a sense of mission and pride."

Meanwhile, Governor Lee Cheol-woo has been directly attending to the livelihood sites amid the changed holiday atmosphere due to COVID-19, starting with a communication meeting with young returning farmers and entrepreneurs in Uiseong County on the 29th, and visiting Gumi City to encourage staff at screening clinics and post offices.
