Democratic Party Rep. Han Junho Reveals Through Materials Submitted to the Korea Communications Commission
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] TV Chosun was found to have received the most sanctions or guidance from the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC). It was about once a week.
According to data submitted by the KCSC, Rep. Han Junho of the Democratic Party of Korea revealed on the 29th that from 2015 to August this year, TV Chosun received the most legal sanctions and administrative guidance, totaling 355 cases.
There were 50 legal sanctions such as disciplinary actions or warnings for related personnel, and 305 administrative guidance cases such as recommendations or opinions. Rep. Han said, "It means receiving legal sanctions or administrative guidance about once a week."
Among terrestrial broadcasters, MBC had the highest number with 284 cases, receiving 55 legal sanctions and 229 administrative guidance cases. KBS recorded 194 cases, and SBS had the fewest among terrestrial broadcasters with 190 cases.
Among terrestrial and general programming channels, JTBC received the fewest sanctions and guidance from the KCSC, with 114 cases.

The most common reason for sanctions among general programming channels was 'violation of objectivity' for broadcasting unclear content as facts, with 345 cases, while among terrestrial broadcasters, 'violation of advertising effects' such as product exposure and product demonstrations was the most frequent with 139 cases.
