12 Members Including Hannam 3 District Union Chief Sent to Prosecution for Forcing General Meeting Amid COVID Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The head and executives of the Hannam 3 District Redevelopment Association, who held a general meeting to select a construction company in violation of the assembly ban order, have been referred to the prosecution.
On the 29th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent 12 people, including the head and executives of the association who were accused of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment. One executive who did not attend the general meeting was sent with a recommendation for non-prosecution.
On June 21, Gangnam-gu heard that a general meeting of association members, gathering about 2,600 people, was to be held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Four days before the meeting, the district notified the association of an assembly ban order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but they proceeded with the meeting anyway.
