Hyundai Livart's Design Experiment... Launch of 'Pop Casual Furniture'
"Dripping" Technique Tables, Storage Cabinets Combining Garage and Warm Materials... "First Attempt Among Major Domestic Furniture Companies"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Hyundai Livart has embarked on a 'design experiment' targeting young customers. It is the first major domestic furniture company to break away from Hyundai Livart's traditional modern and simple designs by applying various artistic techniques used in artworks to furniture design.
Hyundai Livart, a total interior company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 28th that it will launch a collection of 16 'Pop Casual Furniture' items, boldly combining heterogeneous materials and colors in furniture design inspired by various artistic techniques used in pop art, watercolor, and oil painting.
The newly released products include small furniture such as storage cabinets (5 models), tea tables (5 models), stools (3 models), mirrors (2 models), and magazine racks (1 model), suitable for use as interior accessories or for single- or two-person households.
'Pop casual' is a term commonly used in the fashion industry, meaning 'informal and a new way of combination different from the conventional.' Hyundai Livart has mainly showcased simple and standardized furniture designs applying achromatic colors such as white and gray, but this time, it is introducing a unique collection combining free-form curves and pastel colors for the first time.
