[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has supported the idea of a joint investigation between South and North Korea regarding the death of a government official who was shot by North Korean soldiers after going missing in the West Sea.
On the 27th, Lee Nak-yeon wrote on Facebook, "I urge the North to promptly accept our government's proposal for a joint investigation of all related issues."
He continued, "There are differences between the South and North's previous announcements regarding whether the body was cremated," and "Today, North Korea announced that they are searching for the body and will hand it over to our side if found."
Lee emphasized, "Both South and North are conducting searches in their respective waters" and "I hope the body is recovered as soon as possible."
