Busan Gijang-gun Public Workers' Union Returns All Sports and Field Trip Budgets
Budget Canceled Due to COVID-19 "Let's Help Struggling Residents" All Union Members Unite Their Will
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Public Service Workers' Union Gijang County Branch returned 8.61 million KRW of the budget for the 'Workers' Day' family sports event, which was canceled last April. They also expressed their intention to return all remaining budgets for public service worker organizations for the second half of the year.
Due to the cancellation of the 'Union Members and Their Families Sports Event,' which was held every year on the third Friday of October to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Busan Public Service Workers' Union, the Gijang County Branch of the Public Service Workers' Union (Branch Chief Park Jong-chun) decided to return the related budget of 25.8 million KRW this year due to COVID-19.
Additionally, considering the difficult local conditions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the Gijang County Branch announced its intention to cancel the annual advanced site visit for public service workers and return an additional 14.7 million KRW of the related budget.
Following the wishes of the Gijang County Branch of the Public Service Workers' Union, Gijang County plans to process the return of the related budget during the 4th supplementary budget compilation in 2020.
Branch Chief Park Jong-chun said, "All union members united in their intention to return the entire budget allocated to public service worker organizations this year to help local residents suffering from COVID-19 and typhoons."
