Daejeon City to Provide 'Special Care Support Fund' for Households Raising Middle School Students and Younger
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 25th that it will provide a special childcare support fund to reduce the care and parenting burden on local child-rearing households.
The support fund will be distributed differentially to households raising children up to middle school age. For children in elementary school or younger, 200,000 KRW per child will be provided, and for middle school students, 150,000 KRW will be given.
For preschool children, the city will provide the support fund directly to the child allowance account without a separate application process, while for elementary school students and above, the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education will distribute the funds through school banking accounts or similar methods.
Previously, the city received 14.5 billion KRW in national funds to provide the special childcare support fund to about 72,000 preschool children (born after January 2014).
