Jungnang-gu Extends City Gas Payment Deadline Until June Next Year
Extension of Payment Deadlines for 4 Months of City Gas Fees from September to December by 3 Months Each... Installment Payments Possible Until June 2021
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that it will extend the payment deadline for four months of city gas bills until June next year to support overcoming COVID-19, until December 31.
This '2nd payment deferral' is an additional measure following the '1st payment deferral' implemented in April, aimed at reducing the bill burden for small business owners and vulnerable households using city gas.
Specifically, the support targets small businesses with fewer than 5 or 10 regular employees depending on the industry, and for residential discount households, it includes basic livelihood security recipients, persons with disabilities, independence merit recipients and disabled veterans, low-income households, multi-child families, and those issued with low-income verification certificates.
The application can be made non-face-to-face by phone to Yesco or through their website without a separate visit.
For those eligible for deferral, the payment deadline for city gas bills from September to December will be extended by three months each, and no late fees (2%) will be charged during the extension period.
Additionally, each billing period can be paid in equal installments from the original due date until June next year.
For example, the September bill, which must be paid by the end of December, can be paid in installments over seven months from December to June 2021.
Also, deferral for the current month's bill must be applied for within the due date of that month's bill. To apply for deferral of the September bill, the application must be submitted before the due date of September 30. Those who applied for the 1st payment deferral must apply separately if they wish to defer payments from September to December.
