Songpa-gu Implements Comprehensive Safety Measures for Chuseok
Despite the Holidays, Convenient Services Without Inconvenience in Safety, Traffic, Cleaning, and Screening Clinics
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (District Mayor Park Seong-su) will implement a "Chuseok Comprehensive Plan" for 11 days from September 25 to October 5 ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
During the holiday period, a social atmosphere encouraging refraining from returning home and participating in social distancing is spreading. Accordingly, the district plans to deploy a total of 250 personnel, including public officials, operating a comprehensive situation room and function-specific task forces day and night, preparing for emergencies while making every effort to minimize inconveniences in daily life.
First, through the citizen safety measures, COVID-19 screening clinics will be operated (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and a health center emergency medical response situation room will be established to provide emergency medical treatment and medical guidance.
At the same time, on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies within the region will be designated and operated to minimize medical service gaps during the holiday period.
The CCTV Integrated Control Center will also conduct 24-hour monitoring with 17 personnel, including police officers, actively responding to crimes and accidents through 2,407 cameras.
Meanwhile, facility safety will also be ensured. Road facilities and medium to large construction sites will be inspected in advance, maintaining an emergency contact system to respond promptly in case of urgent incidents.
Additionally, through traffic measures, traffic facilities will be inspected collectively, and a task force will be operated to maintain parking and stopping order. Seven public parking lots (Gyotonggongwon-gil, Wiryesung-gil, Bangi Wetland, Rodeo-gil, Saemaeul Market, Garak 1 and 2) and school parking facilities (Munhyeon Middle School and 16 other schools) will be opened free of charge to enhance resident convenience.
Resident life support measures have also been prepared. Patrols and protection for the homeless, various consolation visits, and careful attention to neighbors in need of care will be conducted. In addition, pre-inspections and countermeasures will be implemented for issues expected to cause inconvenience to residents, such as price stabilization management.
In particular, during the holiday period, a cleaning task force will operate, focusing on cleaning major roads and boulevards, and will also prepare for civil complaint handling and garbage disposal guidance.
Furthermore, a total of 82 million won in holiday leave allowances will be provided to approximately 2,750 childcare staff at 371 childcare centers in the region who have devoted themselves to childcare amid COVID-19.
