Kim Jong-sung, New Central Committee Chairman, Becomes 102nd Member of Jeonnam Honor Society
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Jongseong, director of Saejoongang Clinic, has joined the Jeonnam Honor Society (No. 102 (Gangjin No. 6)).
According to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dongil) on the 21st, the joining ceremony was attended by Lee Seungok, Gangjin County Governor; Moon Chundan, Chairman of the Agricultural Economy Committee of Gangjin County Council; Noh Dongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae; Woo Gwangil, Governor of Rotary International District 3610; Kim Yunbok, President of Gangjin Rotary Club; and other Rotarians and related officials, who graced the occasion.
Director Kim has been donating a portion of the hospital's revenue monthly since September 2009 through the Good Store fundraising project, created by the Community Chest of Korea to enable small and medium-sized self-employed businesses to practice sharing a certain amount of their sales.
Additionally, as a member of the Gangjin Rotary Club, he has been practicing community sharing through free medical volunteer services, housing environment improvement projects for vulnerable groups, and youth scholarship support.
Director Kim said, “Sharing is also a habit. With the mindset of wanting to share even small things, I started donating a portion of the hospital's income and formed a connection with the Community Chest, eventually joining the Honor Society Club. I wanted to contribute to Gangjin County and did not hesitate to join the Honor Society to give courage to neighbors in difficult times.”
He added, “I hope my sharing becomes a turning point for neighbors in hardship.”
Lee Seungok, Gangjin County Governor, said, “So far, Gangjin County has led the creation of a happy Gangjin for all residents by discussing county development and support for marginalized groups with five Honor Society members. Today, having one more partner in sharing is reassuring. Congratulations to Director Kim Jongseong on joining.”
Noh Dongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, stated, “We appreciate that you have been practicing neighborly love through Good Store for marginalized groups in Gangjin County and are now joining as an Honor Society member. The precious donations will be well delivered to those in need by discovering welfare marginalized groups together with Gangjin County.”
Meanwhile, the Honor Society is a representative fundraising project conducted by the Community Chest of Korea, where individuals who pledge a lump sum of 100 million KRW or more or complete payment within five years are granted membership as high-value donors.
