Turkey Surpasses 300,000 Cumulative COVID-19 Cases... "About 1,500 New Infections Daily"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Turkey has surpassed 300,000.
According to major foreign media, the Turkish Ministry of Health announced on the 19th (local time) that "with 1,538 new confirmed cases reported in the past day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has increased to 300,348."
The Ministry of Health also reported that the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 68 in one day, totaling 7,445.
New confirmed cases in Turkey had decreased to the 700-800 range in early June, but have been steadily increasing recently as economic activities such as restaurant and cafe operations resumed.
