Democrats Demand "Investigate Yoon Seok-yeol's Mother-in-law Like During Cho Kuk Case"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 20th, the Democratic Party of Korea emphasized that the prosecution should investigate with determination, as it did during former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk's tenure, regarding the stock manipulation allegations involving Yoon Seok-yeol Prosecutor General's mother-in-law, Choi Mo.
Shin Young-dae, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, stated in a written briefing that "During the investigation of former Minister Cho Kuk's family, Prosecutor General Yoon emphasized law and principles, mobilizing hundreds of prosecutors and investigators, deploying the prosecution's capabilities as if conducting a military operation."
He pointed out that even after five months since the complaint regarding Choi's stock manipulation allegations was filed, the complainant has yet to be investigated, criticizing that "It seems the prosecution is conducting an investigation that protects the 'Prosecutor General's family' rather than just 'their own members.'"

Spokesperson Shin added, "If law and principles are applied in a self-serving manner, the public will not stand idly by," and emphasized, "As stated in Prosecutor General Yoon's inaugural speech, prosecutorial power should not be used for specific groups, nor should it be used to shield the Prosecutor General's family."
