Jangseong-gun, 'On-site Administration Visits' Ahead of Chuseok
Extension of Usage Period for Hwangryong Traditional Market 'On-site Registration'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, conducted on-site administration visits to support traditional market merchants who are busy ahead of Chuseok.
According to Jangseong-gun on the 19th, the usage period for stalls at Hwangryong Traditional Market is until September 30. To assist the majority of merchants who run one-person stores operated by women and elderly people, the responsible officials visited the site in person and received about 70 extension applications.
Additionally, as part of COVID-19 prevention measures, the county distributed 20 masks to each merchant and placed hand sanitizers at major entrances.
Jung Jae-woo, president of the Hwangryong Market Merchants Association, welcomed the support, saying, "With the increase in customers visiting the market ahead of the Chuseok holiday, we couldn't leave our posts, so it was a great help that the county came directly to us."
Yoo Doo-seok, mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, "I hope this will provide some strength to traditional market merchants struggling due to COVID-19." He added, "We will revitalize traditional markets further through various support and policy initiatives."
