Gwangju Nam-gu Launches Design Competition for Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) has launched a design competition for the Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center, a 생활SOC complex project aimed at balanced development between villages and improving residents' quality of life.
Nam-gu announced on the 17th that it will proceed with the architectural design of the Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center through an open recruitment method to enhance the value and design quality as a public institution facility.
Eligibility for participation in the design competition is limited to firms that have established offices and completed related work registration under the Architect Act, and any firm without disqualifications based on relevant laws can participate.
However, firms that are currently closed as of the design competition application registration date, designated as ineligible, subject to administrative measures such as suspension of business or work, cancellation of permits or registrations, or have filed for closure, or those currently under suspension orders from administrative agencies cannot participate.
Only one entry per architectural office is allowed, and if duplicate submissions are found, the participant's eligibility will be revoked.
Required documents for the design competition can be found on the Nam-gu Office website and the Nara Marketplace bidding announcement.
Nam-gu will accept design competition registrations for only one day on the 21st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on the same day at 4 p.m., a site briefing session for the design competition will be held at Haengam-dong, the planned site for the new Hyochon Complex Community Center.
Submission of design proposals by architectural offices will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 20th, and a judging committee will be held around the end of November, with the final design announced on December 2nd.

Meanwhile, approximately 8.45 billion KRW will be invested in the construction of the Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center, which is scheduled to be built with one basement floor and three above-ground floors by September 2022. The center will include a public library, a living culture center, and a parking lot for public use.
